Gibson Melody Maker – 1960s – SOLD!

Posted by bobdog on Tuesday Jun 17, 2014 Under Gibson Solid Body Guitars, Sold

This Melody Maker has been chopped down and souped up! It would be the perfect guitar for the Joan Jett or Pat Travers* – Grover machines added, routed for a full-size humbucker, Stop Tailpiece and 70′s Gibson ‘Harmonica’ Tune-A-Matic bridge added, and NO BROKEN HEADSTOCK. Guitar Dater Project tells us that she was manufactured in either 1963 or 1967. Go figure…

* The boss was told by the seller that this IS actually a guitar given to him by lifelong childhood friend Pat Travers! We, of course, have absolutely no proof that this is true, but the cat seemed sincere and it makes for one killer story, so we’re going for it.
